Ugh I feel like craaaaap this morning. Woke up with a stomach ache and the same scratchy, phlegmy cough I had all day yesterday, and WOOHOO TIME TO GO TO WORK IN A FEW MINUTES 8D I plan to spend the day drinking a lot of tea and hopefully the stomach ache will leave off long enough for me to make the drive to work. Oh, I should take some Tums before I go. On the brighter side, yesterday I did the cutest thread ever in XI and just thinking about it is still making me grin.

I'm not sleeping well because of it. And I've been having a LOT of weird dreams lately.

Few nights ago I had a dream in which Thoth, an ibis-headed Egyptian deity, told me that no god wanted me--those were his words. 8( Made me sad.

The night after that I dreamed that my mother and I were at my uncle's house, which is also where my grandma who recently passed away lived. We were sitting in the backyard at the patio table where we had often sat with my grandma, and she was sitting there too, but it wasn't her, it was a wax figure of her. I asked my mom, "Is that her?" and she said, "No, that's not her."

I know it's just my brain still trying to process that she's gone, but it was pretty unsettling. And just writing about it brought tears to my eyes.

Yesterday some spyware or malware or whatthefuckever (hopefully not a virus DX) got onto Lilith (my computer) and started incessantly opening Internet Explorer windows with some weird little picture saying something like "hey big boy" or I don't even know what. The page said it was redirected from AIM, so I unplugged my ethernet cable, restarted my computer, then uninstalled AIM and plugged it back in again. Luckily the pages didn't start appearing again. ::knocks on wood:: But I'm afraid to reinstall AIM.

Firstly, does anyone have any advice about what I should do to see if this thing is still in Lilith? I might as well confess now, my antivirus software is out of date (cause I can't afford buying it every few months) and I have no spyware or malware software (mostly because I have no idea what's good and won't harm my computer. I never had luck with programs like Spybot on my old computer, which I think hurt it more than it helped).

Secondly, does anyone have any recommendations for good messaging programs? I'm kind of paranoid about installing AIM on my computer again, though right now I'm using AIM express. I've tried Trillian in the past and couldn't figure it out.

I might use this opportunity to create a new screenname, perhaps to go along with my lovely new otter theme.

ETA: Damn, Edensphere has a lot of reserves. I see two Naruto characters as well, and I'm crossing my fingers that no one reserves/apps Naruto himself, because I still want him next round. I was going to app him this round, but then the Sebastian apper appeared and I COULD NOT RESIST.

Yesterday was one of those days where everything went wrong. Today has been better, mainly because MY MOM IS HOME FROM THE HOSPITAL \o/ I'm really glad about that. I saw her Saturday and Sunday at the hospital but that's not the same as having her home.

So I've belatedly decided to join the Nano race. \o\ /o/ I'm bored to tears all day at work anyway so I figure I might as well spend it writing. Of course this means that I have to write my novel in a notebook, and therefore won't get the credit and the winner's banner and etc if I do finish, unless I manage to type it all up before the end of November, which I never will. BUT WHATEVER. It also means that my word count will never be exact. I've figured 2000 words to be about 5 notebook pages, so that's what I'm going to aim for daily.

My novel is a fantasy western, in which the Pony Express is secretly a federal organization of young riders with horse magic. Yes.

...I feel like this story is a little too ambitious for me, BUT WHATEVER. Wish me luck, plox.

Well it's been ages since I've participated in one of these. >->;

I think today took more of an emotional toll than I realized because right now I am missing my mom SO much and feeling like breaking down into tears. I feel so fucking lonely right now it is not even funny. .__.

Just got back from the hospital. Mom's surgery is done and went well, thank goodness. I saw her twice before leaving, once in the recovery room and then again in her hospital room. She's woozy but her pain is being managed. Thanks for your well-wishes.

I'm home alone tonight cause my stepdad is staying overnight at the hospital. I feel lonely. :(

I spelled it all out and everything, that's how serious it is. My mom's having (fairly major) surgery tomorrow. It's pretty much the tip of the iceberg, so...whatever prayers, good thoughts, healing energy etc you have to spare for her would be much appreciated.

My cat just threw up everywhere. Everywheeeere. On the stairs, in my room, and there was a HUGE puddle of it in the bathroom (that I wiped up with paper towels). The smell was so disgusting, I feel like I'm going to throw up myself. There go my plans to eat mac and cheese for dinner. 8|

Tags are sort of on their way to getting done. Now, however, I am taking a break to head over to the mall to have a burrito, look at down comforters because it is so motherfucking cold in my room all the time, and possibly see Where The Wild Things Are. Lady on TV says soda is one of the worst foods you can eat with 17 teaspoons of sugar in every 20 oz bottle. The only soda I drink is Coke and I hate diet sodas...methinks I could stand to cut it out of my diet entirely. Work has free tea!
